VICTORIAN FARMERS FEDERATION, COLLINS STREET, MELBOURNE, vic.

DESIGNER: RCA

CLIENT: Victorian Farmers Federation

Located at 24 Collins Street in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, the Victorian Farmers Federation headquarters spans two refurbished floors of a twelve-storey building, delivering 400sqm per level of contemporary workspace. Working alongside RCA, Biuro helped translate the design intent into a built form that subtly brings the character of rural Victoria into an urban setting. The fitout features pale timber finishes, a grass-green palette, smooth lines and custom mapping details to create a calm, open-air atmosphere within a dense city context.

The project included the delivery of breakout spaces, meeting rooms, a boardroom, amenities, workstation zones and a dedicated comms room. Technical upgrades were extensive, with mechanical systems installed throughout and integrated into the existing BMS. Polished concrete flooring, refined detailing and coordinated services work were executed within a restricted-access site, requiring careful staging and close collaboration with building management.

Engaged through Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), Biuro supported the design process with buildability insights, cost planning and services coordination. This early approach ensured the final solution aligned with RCA’s design while meeting the operational needs of the organisation and the constraints of the heritage-rich Collins Street structure.
